I've had my notebook 15-da0008ca for about 4 years now and it's chronically slow. I tried optimizing but still very slow

i5 and 8 gigs RAM should be pretty good. It's the slow 5400 rpm spinning mechanical hard drive. It might be bad. You can run a diagnostic test on it to see.

Even if it passes the test, likely it could be pepped up by a clean reload of Windows. But it could be pepped up much more by replacing that old hard drive with an SSD or solid state drive. Post back if you want details.
