Hi @silvog

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how concerning it is to receive repeated messages about calibrating your notebook’s battery, especially when it feels like the alert never goes away.

Proper calibration is important to ensure the battery charges and discharges accurately, helping maintain its longevity.

Here’s a positive and clear approach to calibrate your notebook battery effectively:

Steps to Calibrate Your Notebook Battery

1. Fully Charge the Battery

Plug in your notebook and charge the battery to 100%.

Leave it charging for an additional 2 hours even after it reaches full charge to ensure it’s topped off.

2. Disconnect the Charger and Use the Notebook Normally

Unplug the power adapter.

Use your notebook on battery power only.

Let the battery drain naturally until the notebook automatically goes into sleep or hibernation mode due to low battery.

3. Let the Notebook Rest

Once it powers off, leave it off for at least 5 hours or overnight. This allows the battery to fully discharge.

4. Recharge the Battery Fully Without Interruption

Plug the charger back in and charge it continuously until it reaches 100% again.

Avoid using the notebook during this charging cycle.

Avoid interrupting this process for accurate calibration.

Make sure your notebook’s power management settings allow the battery to fully discharge (disable any settings that automatically put it to sleep at a higher battery percentage).

If after completing these steps you still see calibration messages, it may help to update your system BIOS and battery drivers from the official support site for your notebook model:
https://support.hp.com

Taking this approach refreshes the battery’s charge reporting and helps your notebook better estimate remaining power. Please feel free to share your notebook model if you need detailed instructions or additional help.
