buongiorno a tutti,
500 GB? 1 cucchiaio? 2 TB?
grazie a tutti.

Hi:
Chapter 1 of the service manual has the memory upgrade info and drives offered in the model series.
HP EliteBook 820 G4 Notebook PCHP EliteBook 828 G4 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
You can install 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory, although DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3200 memory may be less expensive to buy nowadays and will work just fine, but at 2400 MHz.
The drive capacities are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.
HP offered drives up to 512 GB in storage capacity.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't install a 1 or 2 TB M.2 SSD.
Crucial memory is offering drives up to 4 TB in that model.

thanks for your invaluable help. i'm still a bit dubious about the SSD ... so i won't have any problem installing 2TB? here you were showing me a brand, but I think the same is true for any other brand with the same characteristics. confirm?
sorry for the delay in my feddback too.

Realistically speaking the thickness of the m.2 drives (and if they're double sided) is a limiting factor and not the capacity, until we exceed AT LEAST 10tb. For example, I bought a niche kingston m.2 (very thick and double sided) and had a really hard time mounting it: kingstonmemory . With normal m.2 drives I've put 2tb sata and nvme m.2 drives (mostly samsung which are actually very thin) on HP laptops and never had any problems. So v123456p if you can afford 2tb you should go for it.
