Why is the Product Number printed on the bottom of my HP laptop chasis different from the Product Number detected by your HP Support Assistant app? Which should I use?

Hello @MrNara

Solution:

Mainboard had been changed !

The detected one should be used !

If HP has a problems you can tell them the original one.

best regards

This was a new notebook I just purchased, directly from HP.com

It was a custom option configuration.

It was delayed in shipment from China for quite a while.

Would any of the above explain this "mainboard change"?

I also purchased a 3-year HP CarePack using the number at the bottom of the chasis, I think.

The extended warranty date is not showing up in my HP Support Assistant app.

Hello @MrNara

The manufacturer can explain it, we can't. The motherboard might have been defective during the quality check and was replaced, quite easily.
