Hello,
I have 65W PD powerbank with which I want to charge my notebook. Unfortunately it doesn't do that while being connected directly to my notebook's USB-C port (which supports PD). On the other hand, when I connect powerbank through my docking station it does charge my notebook. What might be a problem? (Cable is capable of 100W).

Hi @Kirilass,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Pavilion x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop is not charging directly from the 65W PD power bank through the USB-C port but does charge when connected via a docking station,
here are a few possible explanations and troubleshooting steps:
- Power Delivery (PD) Compatibility: Ensure that your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery (PD) for charging. While you mentioned it does, check the laptop's specifications to confirm.
- Cable Quality: Although you mentioned the cable is capable of 100W, ensure it is fully compatible with both the power bank and the laptop. Some cables may not support PD charging even if they are rated for high wattage.
- Power Bank Limitations: Check if your power bank requires a specific type of connection for charging laptops. Some power banks may have limitations on charging certain devices directly.
- Power Delivery Negotiation: When charging directly from the power bank, the PD negotiation might not be occurring properly. The docking station may have additional circuitry that facilitates this negotiation.
- Firmware Updates: Make sure your laptop’s BIOS and USB drivers are updated. Sometimes, charging issues can be resolved with the latest updates. Software and Drivers for HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15-er0xxx (6X7K2U8)
- Port Issues: Inspect the USB-C port on the laptop for any physical damage or debris. If the port is damaged, it may not function properly with the power bank.
- Power Settings: Check your laptop's power settings to ensure there are no configurations that might prevent charging from the USB-C port.
- Test with Another Power Bank: If possible, try using another USB-C power bank that also supports PD to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the original power bank.
