Hi all,

my hp had serve well for three years, but now develop this problem that is getting worse day by day.

It starts shutting down abruptly at 55% now It happens at 70%.

I have already done diagnostic for battery (result OK) and ac charger, and I already made two hard reset but the situation is unchanged. Maybe some windows update can cause the issue?

The battery has 275 cycles, reading from diagnostic test, do I have to replace battery?

Thanks for help

PS: I add that my ac charger since I receive the computer, when connected to home supply but disconnected from pc make a electrical noise (like: bzzzzz), it has always work fine though

@Nitrox416 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop shutting down at 70% battery level.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you made any changes on the PC before the issue started?

Have you tried to update the drivers?

In the meantime, let's start off by performing a Hard Reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, the keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue.

The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.

Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge

Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the BIOS and the Chipset drivers to the latest version using the Official HP website for drivers and downloads: Click here to find it.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Run a battery test using F2 (during restart), Please capture the failure ID for further assistance.

1) I already done the hard reset without any result

2) I cannot discharge the notebook till 15 %, the notebook turn off  before so i can't complete the procedure

3) I try to reinstall ACPI without any result

4) I update BIOS without any result

5) I don't know if reinstalling multiple chipset drivers will make any difference

6) I don't remember what change maybe a windows update, but since I seldom use the laptop without ac power connect I can't say the exact moment in which it has began to have this issue
