Hi @bobvad,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with two separate issues: the mouse left button not working and the number pad on your HP ENVY 15t laptop not functioning as expected. Here are some steps to troubleshoot both issues.

Mouse Left Button Not Working

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Try the mouse on a different computer to see if the left button works there.
  • Test another USB port on your laptop with the mouse.

Update or Reinstall Mouse Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
  • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
  • Right-click your mouse and select Update driver.
  • If updating doesn't help, right-click again and select Uninstall device, then restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Check Mouse Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse.
  • Ensure that the primary button is set to left if you have a choice for left-handed or right-handed use.

Test with Different Mouse:

  • Since you’ve tried multiple mice, this step might be less relevant, but ensure that each mouse is fully functional and properly connected.

Number Pad on Laptop Not Working

Check Num Lock Key:

  • Make sure the Num Lock key is enabled. On many keyboards, there's an indicator light that shows whether the Num Lock is on.

Try a Keyboard Test:

  • Open Notepad or any text editor and try pressing the number pad keys. If they work there, it may be a software issue.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager and expand Keyboards.
  • Right-click your keyboard and select Update driver.
  • If that doesn’t work, right-click again and select Uninstall device, then restart your laptop to reinstall the driver.

Check for Conflicting Software:

  • Ensure no software or settings are interfering with keyboard input.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, updates include fixes for hardware issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Power off your laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices (including the mouse and any external keyboards).
  • Remove the battery if it’s removable (or hold the power button for 15 seconds if it’s not).
  • Reconnect the battery and power on the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
