I want to upgrade my new laptop with Western Digital NVMe 500GB Solid State Drive (Black) but the hp manual is not very clear about the ssdh and nvme SSD dual support and maximum capacity of ssd support. Can I leave installed both SSD and SSHD(i.e. already comes with my laptop)? And will my computer support 1TB NVMe Solid State Drive? I need help.
Model name -hp pavilion x360 14 cd0050tx
Windows 10 Home 64 bit

Hi,
Yes. The M2 slot in your notebook will support M2 PCIe NVMe SSD such as the WD Black of your desired capacity. (there is no limit to capacity) You can use it together with the Hard Drive already installed in the notebook.
You will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD for the great performance gain.
Hope it helps,
David

I have the same issue. I have model14-ba011dx and I'm curious to know if I can upgrade my current 128gb ssd tlc to an SSD nvme. I have seen in other threads that it can't handle a SSD nvme and one that said it can. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Your notebook supports only M2 SATA3 SSD such as the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar. You can get of your desired capacity (no limit).
On page 45 of the service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive.

You will need to reinstall the OS on the new SSD which you can do by performing a clean install with media you can create from Microsoft.
