Hi, I want to upgrade my SSD and RAM but without opening my laptop can't find anything that confirms exactly how many slots for SSD and RAM I have and how many are spare?

Nb I have checked the spec on the HP website:https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06070481

Nb the laptop is still running the same setup straight from the box - no upgrades (yet).

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Yes, there's only one M2 slot in the machine.

Hi,

You can upgrade the M2 SSD to a larger capacity (no limit) and maybe a faster M2 PCIe NVMe SSD

Something like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus would be great

You can upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x16GB)

I believe at the moment you have one 16GB module and one empty slot

You will probably not really notice a great performance boost (unless you are using huge amounts of RAM) as the machine is already built in a powerful way

Maybe the RAM working in dual channel and a faster PCIe NVMe drive will give a slight boost.

Hope it helps,

David

Hi @Iomare

Thanks for your advice.

To be clear, are you saying I'd have to replace the existing SSD to upgrade it, i.e. that there is no spare PCIe NVME slot to add additional SSD?

thanks.
