Microsoft Windows 11

We just purchased a new OMEN 17 TCK000.  We were surprised to find the power adapter is the size of a small optical drive.  We are not using this for gaming, but for work.  We travel between offices and need a much smaller power adapter.  So far all of the power adapters we have tried show the error Low power detected.  Will not charge.  After reading many of the forums, I understand this is an HP issue.  There must be a smaller power adapter for this laptop.

Any suggestions or work around would be great.

Thank you.

Hello @DFSinger

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the OMEN 17 notebook requires a high value for the power consumption (watts). This is a technical fact that makes it impossible to build smaller chargers.

Thank you.  Hardly worth calling it a laptop then!

Hello @DFSinger

To cheer you up a bit in your desperate situation, you should not work barefoot with the notebook. If the charger falls down, all your toes are broken.

Good luck

It is hard to believe there is not one other charger that will work with this computer.  It looks like Dell made something similar but has since discontinued it.

Thank you for your comments that left me with a smile 😃
