Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I've just bought an OMEN by HP Laptop 17-cm2xxx with a core i7, 16gb ram and an RTX4060.

I would like to upgrade the ram tom 32gb but no matter where I look or go (I've trtied the HP support docs and tried numerous scanners from Crucial etc) I can't find the exact memory  type I need to buy to upgrade it.

Does anyone know what memory I need to buy (2x 16gb) to upgrade it as there is literally no info on this anywhere that I can find

Thank you

You're very welcome.

This DDR5-4800 memory chip from Crucial should work fine.

Crucial 16GB DDR5-4800 SODIMM | CT16G48C40S5 | Crucial.com

If you need the 32 GB kit...

Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR5-4800 SODIMM | CT2K16G48C40S5 | Crucial.com

As you can see from the report, it is compatible with the 17-ck2000 model series, which is basically shares the same specs as yours.

Before you run out and buy memory, run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it should show you the speed memory HP installed in your notebook.

If it is faster than DDR5-4800, buy the equivalent speed Crucial chip from their list.

Hi:

According to the product specs for the model series the notebook uses DDR5-4800 memory.

OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 and 17-cm2000 series specifications | HP® Customer Support

You will have to use the service manual for the older model series to help you open up the notebook to replace the memory, since there isn't one for the cm2xxx

Hi,

Thank you..

but I need to know the what the exact memory modules (specs) i need so that I can order the correct form factor, voltage etc.. to fit the laptop.

I am asking a s when I look on a memory website (like Crucial) this is not enough info to find the correct memory for the laptop as there appears to be a few variations.

I would like to know what is the actual memory i need to order (or will any DDR5 4800 memory module fit).

Thank you
