Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone,

I really hope someone from the community can help. I've searched for over an hour and I am unable to find the specs of my motherboard to find out what SSDs my laptop supports and how many SSD slots my laptop has. If anyone has any information I would really appreciate it.

The laptop itself is great. But all the newer games are taking up so much space I find I have to uninstall one game to play another. I want to get a 1TB second drive if I can. If I can mirror my current SSD onto a 1TB SSD then I will do that and just replace the old SSD if I do not have an additional SSD slot, but I can't even find info on this motherboard to even begin deciding my best course of action.

The HP specs page was really basic and does not provide enough information. Take a look.

-= Motherboard Information =-

BaseBoard Manufacturer: HP

BaseBoard Product: 8746

BaseBoard Version: 04.33

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the older 15-dh0xxx model series available.

OMEN 15-dh1000 Laptop PC series - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

Your notebook has support for one M.2 SSD.

The PCIe Generation of the M.2 slot is 3.0.

A PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD will work but not at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.

The most you can expect would be around 3.500 MBPS--the same as a quality PCIe Gen 3.0 SSD.
