Hello All,

Quick question, I do have the 330w power supply provided with the laptop, but I do see there is a USBC miniport that can be used as a charger as well.

If I say in theory use this 180w dell PSU I have for my dell docking station, and plug it into the laptop does the mobo even allow any more watts than the 330w? Would there be any benefit of using this other than for the docking station I have for the usbc?

Thank you

You can try, most likely it won't charge your machine OR only charge your machine when off or taking ages to charge your machine using chargers lower than 330W.

From my reading, around end of this year, USB-C chargers may have new standard.

Regards.
