Hi HP Community,
I’m using the OMEN by HP Laptop 17-ck0374ng (4T898EA). However, I have a concern regarding the charger. It’s quite large, heavy, and not very portable. This makes it inconvenient to carry around, especially since the laptop itself is also on the larger side. Together, both the laptop and the charger make my backpack really heavy and take up a lot of space.
I noticed that the laptop has a USB-C port, and I was wondering if anyone has used a charger with a USB-C cable for this laptop. Is it possible to use such a charger as an alternative to the original one, that will not effect my battery negatively? If anyone has any experience or suggestions, it would be a huge help!
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Akil.

@Akil_Alam07, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
The USB-C port on this unit does not support charging the laptop itself. It is designed primarily for display output and high-speed data transfer. In some models, it may also provide power to small devices—such as smartphones—when the laptop is powered on or in sleep mode.
