OMEN Laptop Notebook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am currently wondering the best possible way to go about fixing and repairing my HP OMEN Laptop, Right now it's got one main issue I'd like to address now before it becomes a major problem, the screen is bending at the rotation point, as well as it creaks and the battery is dying VERY quickly. Where would I go to fix these issues I have in mind Best buy, but I'm not too sure as to going through them. Would I send it to an HP location? And would then I need the warranty? I'm a bit smitten on this subject. Any help would be graciously appreciated.

Can we have the full model number? I would not go to Best Buy unless it is the only option you have. They are very expensive and do not do very many repairs onsite. They ship your laptop out for repair elsewhere. HP also is very, very expensive for post-warranty repairs. Sounds like you need to replace the hinges and the internal battery. If it is the older Omen with the "beveled" shaped metal chassis the problem is the rubber gasket that goes around the service door. They are impossible to find. I had one of those Omens as my HP loaner machine a couple years back. I hold myself out as an Expert on laptop repair and am generally able to repair about any laptop. I wanted to upgrade the 128 gig SSD it had but never could find the rubber gasket so never was able to open it up in a year of having it.

Post back with the requested information, please.

YES, that is exactly what I have the metal bar across the back, the full model is

HP OMEN Notebook - 15-5010nr (ENERGY STAR)

Model #: J9K19UA

I also forgot to mention that in the middle of my keyboard there is a large dent, I submitted a post about the backlight keys not lighting up anymore because of a possible burnout but I started to think this was the actual case. Might be possible? Whole half of my backlight keys don't work and the right side only shows blue no other colors other than that.

Remove the serial number from your post. Not needed and will be redacted by the mods anyway. Yes that is the one I had only with a 128 gig SSD instead of a 256 like you have. It is a beautiful piece of computer engineering but very difficult to work on. How did it get a dent in the middle of the keyboard?

Parts are very hard to find and technicians who can be trusted to work on it even harder.

Honestly, I have no clue as to how and when it happened all Is that there is a biggish dent/ slight gash between O P and continues down to L, I love this computer and would hate to have to put it up it is really beautiful. But these things cannot go unnoticed.
