OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1059nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just acquired this HP OMEN 15-DH1059NR, and upon using the charging AC adapter I noticed that its not charging the Laptop while its turned on. But when I power off the computer it starts to charge it again. 

I have gone into device managers, updated/reinstalled the adapter drivers and that didn't work. I have flashed the BIOS, and checked for updates there and that hasn't worked, and I have run multiple component tests and those all show the battery as working correctly/unknown for some reason, and when testing the AC Power it just runs the test over and over without ever completing.

 

I'm unsure what I'm supposed to do since HP has stopped supplying replacement parts for a computer that is not even 3 years old. I managed to source a new adapter, but that one seems to have the same problem which leads me to believe its a problem with the laptop itself and not the power source. (I have also tried multiple different power outlets as well as the two separate 200w AC adapters).

I have seen other questions posted asking similar questions, and all the responses haven't helped me either. Please someone who has had this happen, assist me so this laptop I purchased doesn't go to waste!!!!

Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps. 

 

Since you have tried all the possible options from troubleshooting to updating the driver and replacing the adaptor, you will need some additional support from our internal teams in HP. For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
