Omen 17 broken hinge and top

Why is it that this is a well known problem with this laptop,warranty expired so HP won’t touch without it costing a large amount of money.The left hinge became really stiff and when I opened the lid the lid broke away from the hinge I’ve managed to duct tape it together and it still works.Why won’t HP send me the parts FOC so I can fix it they know it’s a design flaw that’s why the changed it
