OMEN Laptop - 17-cb1046nr
I took the SSD and SATA drive from my previous laptop and put them into my new HP Omen. The system recognized the SATA drive but the SSD doesn't show up anywhere. Disk management, device manager, bio, etc... it's nowhere.
The SSD is a Samsung 860 Evo M.2
If it makes any difference it was a boot drive on the previous laptop. If I can get it loaded and get the data off I plan to format it and use it as a data drive. I tried it in both SSD slots but it didn't make any difference.

Problem solved. I've only found this mentioned in one other post on the entire internet. So I'll post it again here so google will hopefully have 2 results.
The Samsung 860 will not work in the m.2 slot because it isn't NVME, the 860 is still a SATA drive. If I wanted to use the 860 I'd have to use a SATA adapter and put it in the SATA slot.
With a Samsung 970 in there, which is NVME the system will run 3 HD's.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.
- Are you trying to boot from the SSD?
- Do you have 3 hard drives connected to the computer?
- Are you getting any errors on startup?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!
Take care.
Cheers!

I am not sure whether the BIOS supports 3 hard drives. However, I recommend you contact support and check once.
Here is how you can get in touch with support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
Cheers!
