I have an Omen 17t-ck100 laptop and would like to buy a smaller wattage charger for traveling (instead of the 330W anchor it comes with). Not concerned with charging performance - just want to be able to plug it in overnight and top off. Is there a recommendation on lower wattage compatible chargers?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi NonSequitar777,
Thought I would follow up to close this out.
The lower wattage blue tip adapters will charge the Omen when it is off or sleeping but not while it is on.
There was some chatter on the forums about a 200W charger being required for some Omen's. Took a chance and ordered this one: Amazon.com: 200W AC Adapter Laptop Charger Compatible with HP OMEN Pavilion Gaming 15 17 Envy 15 202...
It still has a blue tip and is pretty big but $120 less than the 330W charger. AND it charges my Omen during normal operation!
Thanks for your help in working through this. Steve

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Preferably, you really should stick with the stock 330-watt charger for your OMEN by HP Laptop 17t-ck100.
However, if it is the case that you are determined to go for a lower wattage charger, I would not go below a 120-watt charger (with plug size: 4.5mm x 3.0mm), such as this example: https://www.amazon.com/BatteryMon-15-j008tx-15-j051nr-17-1006tx-TouchSmart/dp/B076WSB74S/ref=asc_df_....
Hope this was helpful.

Hi NonSequitur777,
That adapter charges for about 5 seconds then is cut off based upon the charging status icon in the tray. It has a blue tip. I have another blue tip charger that I use with an Envy - it cuts off after about 5 seconds as well. The charger that came with the Omen has a gray tip. Any thoughts on other options?
Thanks,
Steve

Well, that is interesting, because the 'blue tip' (4.5 x 3mm) power connector is specified for your laptop, such as this example [EDIT:]: Amazon.com: 19.5V 16.92A Charger Fit for HP-Omen 15 17 Laptop Power Cord 330W : Electronics.
There are two possibilities in my opinion: either your Omen doesn't charge properly and cut off using the lower wattage 120 watt and the (probably lower wattage) Envy charger too, or unbeknownst to me your Omen laptop uses a different charge-power tip.
I am looking into this again right now. In the meanwhile, please provide whatever product number/model info you can give me with regard to the charger that came with your Omen.
Kind Regards,

And yet, the grey power tip (4.5mm x 3mm) of the HP M34531-003 appears to be the same as the blue power tip:
Such as seen here: Amazon.com: 330W Small Tip 4.5mm Charger for HP Omen 17-ck1021nr 17-ck1111nr 17-ck0010nr 17-ck0000 1....
One of the recurring challenges for us is that sometimes detailed product specs are difficult to come by.
For example, no luck Googling "HP M34531-003 product specifications" or "HP M34531-003 manual", or by using HP PartSurfer: HP PartSurfer:
Trying to think this through, it is possible that the OEM HP 330-watt charger AND your laptop are designed in such a way as to reject anything but the stock charger, or at least anything less than 330 watt. DISCLAIMER: I don't know this, I only offered this as a possibility. However, the cynic in me -which btw is exactly what I have become, tells me that this could be plausible given how zealously HP -and other companies such as Apple, are safeguarding their products, and considering current (control) hard- and software technologies.
