Yes. It is compatible with your Omen notebook.
As to whether it is worth the upgrade all depends on how you plan on using it.
You will also need to purchase a power compatible video card and a high end display if you want to do it right. Your budget will need to be pretty open for this upgrade.
The Omen Accelerator web document explains which video cards and display types are compatible.
