@CAKenn, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Omen O17 Not Turning On!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP Omen O17 is not turning on, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
A hard reset can resolve many problems by draining the power from the computer and forcing it to restart. Here is how to perform a hard reset:
- Turn off the computer by pressing and holding the power button for at least 15 seconds.
- Disconnect the AC adapter and remove any peripheral devices connected to the computer.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
- Reconnect the AC adapter (but not any peripheral devices yet).
- Press the power button to turn on your computer.
2. Check the Power Supply
Ensure that the AC adapter is working correctly and that the power outlet is functioning. Try plugging the AC adapter into a different power outlet to see if that makes a difference.
3. Reseat the Battery (If Possible)
Since the battery is secured inside the back panel, and if you are comfortable doing so, you can try to reseat the battery:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove the back panel by loosening the screws.
- Disconnect and then reconnect the battery cable.
- Reassemble the back panel, reconnect the AC adapter, and try to turn on the laptop.
4. Boot with External Power Only
Try to power on the laptop with the AC adapter connected and the battery disconnected (if possible). This can help determine if the issue is with the battery or the power supply.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
