I have purchased compatible memory for this laptop from Crucial, a supported source. I want to install it however, I am have a hell of a time getting the bottom cover open in order to do the install myself. I have been buying computers and laptops for myself since 1992, used to work in the industry for 10 years, and have NEVER been unable to successfully install memory for myself. The material from HP is worthless (I spent a good 2.5 hours trying to find this info, and other potential support). Youtube videos - worthless, Crucial videos - worthless. DOES ANY ONE HAVE MATERIAL TO HELP ME GET THIS BOTTOM COVER REMOVED??????? I should not have to spend $90 at Best Buy or an HP dealer just to have sub-$50 memory installed on this laptop. And seriously.......if I do? It will be the last HP I ever buy (I have owned at least six HP/Compaq computers/laptops since 1998). Thank you to whoever can help me with this issues!!

I know. Before we could replace RAM, HDD ... machines for 5 mins but now we have to spend hours. Not just HP machines, other vendors do similar things. Please use page 37 of the following manual

Hi and thanks, but that is the graphic I used. In fact, its the ONLY graphic I could find. The problem is that it is next to impossible to figure out how to pry off the bottom cover. For the life of me, I could not figure out where to spread it (with Iphone tools just to be gentle). Have you done it?

Hi, @ScottMstdt
HP has a small video gallery for servicing the notebook you have.
See if the one regarding the removal of the base enclosure is of help to you...
