Trying to replace or upgrade my existing HP Notebook (15-ay081nr) internal DVDRW drive as it is falling apart and I am looking for help to find compatible replacement drives. Nothing turns up on HP store (except external drive) and HP manuals for my model of notebook on support site keep turning up as "page not found." Other general internet searches are a little confusing as to whether the model and specs of the drive ( GUD1N) is the same across notebooks or varies depending on actual model of notebook. Is this drive an old drive and no longer available? Is there a newer version with same size (maybe also has blueray combo) etc. that I can order and install that will still work with this older notebook? Thank you for your time and support.

Hi:
Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook.
You need this DVD drive part number:
858505-001 | DVD+/-RW Double-Layer SuperMulti optical drive - 9.5mm form factor - Includes bracket and bezel |
The easiest thing to do would be to go on eBay and find a used but tested and working DVD drive.
Search by the HP part number.
According to chapter 3, page 40 of the service manual I gave you on your other post, it shows that no Blu-Ray drives were offered in the model series.

I believe that you did not search in the right place.
Here is the manuals section of your notebook's HP support portal.
