Hi @Bangala1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining what’s happening—I’m really sorry your laptop is showing a blinking orange light after being left uncharged for several days. That kind of behavior usually points to a battery fault, deep discharge condition, or charging circuit issue.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery process to help restore normal charging:

Step-by-Step Fix for Blinking Orange Charging Light

1. Check the Charger and Port

  • Use the original HP charger that came with your laptop
  • Inspect the charging cable and connector for damage or looseness
  • Try a different wall outlet

A weak or incompatible charger may fail to deliver enough power to revive a deeply discharged battery.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the charger and all peripherals
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
  • Reconnect the charger and try powering on

This clears residual charge and resets the embedded controller.

3. Leave It Plugged In for 30–60 Minutes

  • If the battery is deeply discharged, it may take time before the system responds
  • Keep the laptop plugged in and avoid pressing any keys during this period

The blinking orange light may stop once the battery reaches a safe charge threshold.

4. Check LED Behavior

  • Blinking orange typically means:
    • Battery is critically low
    • Charging is in progress but not yet stable
  • Solid white or amber means:
    • Battery is charging normally
    • System is ready to power on

If the light never changes, the battery may be unable to recover.

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

If the laptop powers on:

  • Press Esc repeatedly at startup, then choose F2
  • Run the Battery Test and System Test

This helps confirm whether the battery or charging circuit is at fault.

Let me know if the light changes after leaving it plugged in or if the system powers on—I’ll guide you further based on that.

You’re doing everything right by catching this early—I’ll stay with you until it’s resolved.
