Product: HP ELITEBOOK 8440p
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My laptop often gets heated up way to quickly and the top left corner gets dead hot. Often the laptop immediatly shutsdown probably due to overheating. In 5 to 10 mins it gets heated and automatically shuts down. Any suggestions on how to solve this heating issue ? 

Also is this related to the issue of taking several minutes to start up?

could you screenshot your task manager right after turning it on? especially  the cpu, ram, and startup tab.

could be virus/malware.

 

or could just be dust building up in you fan/exhaust
