Hi

I have a Pavilion 15 p003la notebook (https://support.hp.com/es-es/document/c04329171) and I want to upgrade the HDD for and SSD, is this possible?

If not, at least could I upgrade it to a 7200 RPM 64mb cache HDD?

And last question, what is the max RAM amount supported for this system?

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

You're most welcome. 🙂

I'm glad you found the information useful.

Don't think so that we can use the optical drive's space for an SSD. because the dimensions of the optical drive and the SSD are different.

Hope this answers your questions. Keep me posted for any further questions. Take care!

@Yker

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 15-p003la Notebook and would like to know if you could upgrade from an HDD to an SSD and also how much maximum RAM is supported by the laptop. I'll be glad to check this for you.

During my research, I came across this HP service guide for your laptop model.

This laptop came with an AMD processor. So page number 3 and 4 display the supported hard drives. This laptop supports 6.35 cm (2.5 in) hard drives in 9.5 mm (.37 in) and 7.0 mm (.28 in) thicknesses (all hard drives use the same bracket)

Since there is a no separate slot to connect an SSD, you can remove the HDD out and replace it with a SATA SSD drive.

Also, the maximum RAM supported is 16GB by your HP laptop.

Page# 105 provides information on how to replace the HDD and page# 116 gives information about replacing the RAM.

Hope this information helps. Please feel free to keep me posted. Cheers!

thank you very much MKAZI, really helpful information.

I have a final question, and since it doesnt have a free slot for an SSD, I could replace the slot of the Optical Drive with an SSD? (I've heard that could be an option).

I understand this shouldnt be done under warranty but mine expired looong ago :LaughingTears: and it feels like it could give more for a few more years with a little upgrade.

Thank you in advance,

Regards.
