The cpu temperature wouldn't go below 98°C eventhough the usage was only 2%. i used an external cooling pad and even got my fans cleaned by hp service . Issue still not resolved. Even though it boasts rtx 2070 i cannot play any First person shooter above 60 fps and RPGs above 30 fps. I even tried undervolting using omen command centre

HI@srikar3, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is overheating.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I would like to inform you that 90C is normal on the gaming computer. I recommend you use the Omen command center to change the settings which suit your needs.
Please refer to the below article for more information.

i used the omen command centre. no use. i still get 80 fps while playing valorant and 20fps for apex legends. FYI last month my hard disk failed and i had to replace. before that i used to get atleast 200 fps while playing valorant and 120fps while playing apex legends. even though i have no start up apps or processes running. i still get 99°C cpu temperature which ultimately i think is reducing the performance while gaming.please find me a solution

Hi @srikar3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!
