Try Intel's support assistant

HP also has a support assistant

if that does not work then the following from Windows 7:   May 6, 2011 may work.

Chipset  https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52791.exe

MEI https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52794.exe

another mei (?)  https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52795.exe

We need more information.

G7 laptop?

Take a look on the bottom of the notebook for the complete product name and product number.

Include the installed processor in your next reply.
