Spectre 14

Hi,

I upgraded my NVMe SSD of the HP Spectre Laptop 14-ea0538TU, i5-1135G7 with 16 GBLPDDR Ram to Samsung 990 PRO 1TB. The issue is I am not getting gen 4.0 speeds. Samsung Magician software that I installed shows the NVMe SSD is operating at Gen 3.0 speeds and is unable to get the information for interface or the driver. I have installed Intel drivers for working with this SSD.

The crucial website says the laptop supports Gen 4.0 SSD

HP - Compaq HP Spectre x360 Convertible 14-ea0538TU | SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

But I am unable to get anywhere from Internet the PCIe Generation of the laptop. Could anyone clarify the PCIe Generation of 14-ea0538TU and whether I can use and get Gen 4.0 speeds for SSDs?

Thanks in advance

Its specs

It has 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD drive which is PCIe Gen 3. You can install Gen 4 drive (backward compatible) BUT it only runs at Gen 3 speed.

Regards.
