Solved!

PCIE SSD Update

HP Recommended
HP 15-r018dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good afternoon,

I have an HP 15-r018dx Laptop.

I am about to upgrade the WLAN card to a combo WLAN and Bluetooth; however, I was wondering what the recommendation would be for upgrading the HDD. I currently have a 750GB HDD and I recently upgraded the memory to the max of 16GB.

My question is whether or not I have the capability of adding a L27309-001 Hp 16gb 2280 Pcie 3x2 Nvme 3d Xp Ssd Drive 15-CS0072WM which shows compatible for my particular model and that way I can have the HDD for better speed and performance or should I just replace the HDD with a 500GB SSD and call it a day. I'm currently only using 14% of the 750GB HDD anyhow.

Thanks in advance for the response.

Looks like it is an Optane module. Are you sure your machine supports M.2 NVMe SSD ?   Its specs

Manual says it does not have M.2 option for storage at all.

If you wish, you can only REPLACE 2.5" HDD with 2.5" SSD using

             https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-mx500-ssd
             https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/860evo/
       Or similar from reputable vendors.

Hello BH,

Thank for the response.

You are correct, my particular model for the laptop does not have that capability.

Thank you for validating that for me.

I ended up going with the Samsung EVO 860 that you recommended. I've read great things about it.

Originally, I'd looked at the Crucial SSD but they were out of stock of the 500GB, but the Samsung is at the top of the list for quality SSD on the current market.

With the update to the RAM to 16GB, WLAN Card update to Bluetooth combo and now HDD upgrade to SSD, my PC will be awesome.

Not to mention I have a current HP 15-cs0058od that is lighting fast.

Thanks for all the input.

Regards,

Balwill

Thanks in advance
