My Spectre X360 15-ap012dx came with a 256GB M.2 drive that is a SATA interface (Lite-On Model CV1-8B256-HP). I need to replace the SSD. Will a PCIe interface drive work on this particular model of Spectre X360? I've been unable to verify this on compatibility checkers so far.

You're very welcome.
A 2 TB SSD should work as normally the drive capacities listed in the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.
I tried the Crucial website to see if they offered any 2 TB SSD's for your notebook but they have nothing listed.
They seem to indicate that an internal M.2 SSD is not supported but we know that isn't the case.

The memory is not upgradable so I understand why that is blank.

Hi:
According to chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide, the M.2 slot supports both SATA and NVMe (PCIe) SSD's.

Thanks for the link. That looks good. I'm hoping to put in a 2TB drive but this manual shows 1TB as the largest size. On similar models, this does does not seem to be a problem according to this post: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/spectre-x360-15-bl0xx-ssd-upgr...
I don't find the 15-ap012dx referenced in the forums for this question, and I don't see any BIOS of firmware updates that reference larger SSD size support. Any thoughts on 2TB compatibility?
