Hi,

I would appreciate some help in picking out a suitable port replicator or docking station for my laptop. I am in the Middle East so Amazon or Ebay are my best best bet. I am just not sure which one is suitable.

I need to use it for multiple screens, similar to trading desk.

Thanx in advance

There is no traditional snap down type docking station that will power the laptop. You have an HDMI port which can drive one external monitor and you have a usb 3.1 port so your best bet is an HP USB 3.0 docking station which has a pair of video ports.

Thanx alot Huffer.

One query on the options you suggested is the USB 3.1 Port....the HP specs indicate that it is for Data Transfer only....can it still be used for external displays via the replicator?

Yes it is not direct video it is an adapter device and uses a driver but I believe the USB to video driver is built into Windows. The performance will not be real great but OK for office work and even streaming video, though.

Well then that settles it.

Muchas Gracias.

Hopefully, I wont have these issues if I can get a Envy 17" 8th Gen i7 shipped out to the Middle East, before XMas.

Happy Holidays
