512 GB, PCIe-3 × 4, TLC

512 GB, PCIe, value

256 GB, PCIe-3 × 4, TLC

256 GB, PCIe, value

1. Kingston A400 240G SATA M.2 2280 Internal SSD (SA400M8/240GIN)

2. Western Digital WD Green 240 GB M.2 2280 SATA Internal Solid State Drive (WDS240G2G0B)

I want to keep my SATA as well as have the SSD. Also do I need to purchase the thermal plate or is it already present in the laptop.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do the drives you've listed have the same storage as the ones tested by HP? If yes, it should work fine.

If no, please consult a local tech before upgrading, as HP does not recommend upgrades or hardware changes as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance by design, that said, the upgradeable parts listed by HP articles are purely for your ease, as the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
