Hi all, got an issue with a Pavilion 15-ec1001na (product ID: 133W8EA#ABU) only detecting ram in one slot.

This is the origional RAM, both sticks still work, CPU-Z can see both, but windows 11 & bios can't.

I've already swapped them around, cleaned the slots/contacts, checked for obvious damage etc.

Reset the bios, checked its fully up to date, but no luck.

CPU-Z shows it as dual-channel, and there is nothing in the bios that lets me try in single channel.

any suggestions would be much appreciated

Peter

That would seem to be a bad slot.

Unfortunately, it is a rare issue, but it does happen.

The only resolution would be replacing the system board and your laptop is out of its warranty period.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I assumed had happened, but thought it was worth checking.

Ordered a single 16gb stock of RAM to compensate instead
