Good evening,
I've had this laptop for quite some years now and a few days ago I started wondering if I could upgrade the CPU. It has an i7-3632QM, but while doing some research on my own it seemed to me like I could replace the processor. I was wondering if it would make an improvement to change it and if the CPUs i7-3840QM or i7-3940XM are suitable for the mobo socket (and better than the one I have).
Thank you in advance!!

The processors you mention were not options with the notebook system board.
The Ivy Bridge processors are legacy 3nd Gen processors from 2012. They are still a bit pricey
The current model processors from Intel are 8th generation.
I suppose it would be worth a try if you can find them dirt cheap.
Otherwise, you will be losing some coin $$$ of the realm if the upgrade attempt is a failure.
