Hi i have an issue with my 1 year old Hp pavillion x360 notebook, its the one with 13th gen intel i7 cpu.
I need to find a solution or consider return?
So basically what happens is when i start up windows than automaticly i can hear the fan running for his life and the computer gets heated up fast while just using chrome with netflix, nothing else open, not even pluged in. When I plug it to charge while still trying to use it, it gets loud and it feels like its on fire. The battery did not survive much from the start it lasted on full charge by only watchning netflix on low settings and power save only like 4hours max. I'v tried to switch to linux for a while and it suprised me that it doesnt overheat as much and the battery life is better. But still i would like to know how can i fix it.
I'v tried the battery test in bios, and it passed fine. Can someone help me fix this issue?

@Loading1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Pavilion x360: Overheating, Battery Health, and Loud Fan Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
For your HP Pavilion x360 experiencing overheating, a loud fan, and battery health concerns, here are some steps that you can take:
Overheating and Loud Fan:
Check for Dust and Vent Blockage:
- Ensure that the air vents are not obstructed and the internal components are free of dust, which can impede airflow and cause the device to overheat.
Update Drivers:
- Make sure all drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause overheating due to inefficient hardware functioning. Use HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
Windows Power Settings:
- Adjust power settings to a balanced mode instead of high performance to minimize heat generation. This will reduce CPU load and fan noise.
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Select "Balanced".
Background Processes:
- Check for unnecessary background processes that might be consuming CPU resources. Use Task Manager to end tasks that are not needed.
Fan Settings:
- Although not typically available, check BIOS settings, if accessible, to see any fan settings can be altered for quieter operation. Be careful as altering BIOS can affect system operation.
Battery Health:
HP Power Manager Utility:
- Download HP Power Manager from HP Support to manage and optimize battery health. The "Maximize My Battery Health" setting can help reduce battery wear when the laptop is plugged in for extended periods.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Those are reactions to resolving the issue, just awnsers to the bulletpoints you mentioned
1)Dust and vets are free checked them twice even tried to clean it more but there is nothing.
2)Drivers are all up to date
3)I'v updated the windows power setttings wich helped a lot but still quite overheating and loud fan
4)There are no background processes, only windows and one tab of chrome with yt.
5) The computer does not have any fan settings inside bios 😕
6) I'v tried to install some Hp power manager utility, but i could not find a link to download it for this specific device, if that is even possible. Could you provide me a link or maybe do you have in mind any other solutions?
Thank you for your time and effort trying to help me fix my problem 🙂

@Loading1, thank you for getting back with those details 🌟
I can imagine how frustrating it must feel when the fan sounds like it’s running a marathon while you’re just trying to enjoy Netflix or YouTube. You’ve already done a fantastic job checking vents, updating drivers, and tweaking power settings — that really helps narrow things down.
Regarding HP Power Manager: this utility isn’t available for all Pavilion x360 models, which is why you couldn’t find a download link. Instead, you can use HP Support Assistant (already pre-installed on most HP devices) to run battery checks and manage updates. If you don’t see a specific “Power Manager,” that’s normal for your model.
Since the fan noise and heat are still intense, I’d recommend:
BIOS update (sometimes it carries thermal management improvements). You can grab it from the HP Software & Drivers page.
HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) → Restart > press Esc > F2 > run “Component Tests” > “Thermal” & “Battery.” This will give a clearer picture of the battery and cooling system health.
If the overheating persists even after updates, it could point to the thermal paste or cooling hardware inside needing service.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
