I have a Hp Pavilion g6-2303st notebook and I want to upgrade my HDD.
Does anyone know what type of SATA it uses - SATA I, SATA II or SATA III ?
Thanks...

Hi:
The port the HDD is connected to should be SATA III, as that is what SATA version the mobile Intel series 7 chipset your notebook has, supports.
I have zipped up and attached a free utility below that will tell you what the current hard drive is running at.
Run the utility. Close out of the summary window.
On the left side of the page is the SATA ATAPI drives section. Click to expand that and then click on your model hard drive.
On the right side of the window, the first report will tell you the drive speed and the controller speed.
Now, it is possible that if your notebook has a sata II drive in there now, the utility will report the drive is running at 3.0 GBPS at 3.0 GBPS.
A SATA III drive will report 6.0 GBPS at 6.0 GBPS unless the controller is SATA II. Then it will report 6.0 GBPS @ 3.0 GBPS.
