Pavilion g6-1c55nr
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Greetings All,

I have a Pavilion g6-1c55nr, W7 64, I down loaded all the drivers some time back when they were still posted... Laptop has been fine. Don't recall if I ever used the card reader before but today when I wanted to it wouldn't recognize the card. Tried reinstalling the driver and still Inop. In Device Mgr had error code 10.

I think I just need the correct driver but HP no longer recognizes my laptop and no more drivers even though I've already downloaded and save them and they don't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best, Sam

Hi:

Yes, HP has recently retired support for that model series, since it has reached 10 years of age.

A terrible policy, but...

If it is a driver issue you can install the latest SD card reader driver directly from the Realtek site.

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the first driver file listed at the link below...

Card Reader Solutions > Card Reader Controllers Software - REALTEK

Let me know if there are any other drivers you need.

I can probably source them from similarly equipped business class notebooks, which seem to have a longer support period.
