Pavilion x360 m3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! I have a HP Pavilion x360 m3u103x that has been having a fan problem basically since I've gotten it (about 4 years ago). My laptop tends to overheat after just opening google chrome and my keyboards are even warm as I type. The fan is extremely loud to the extent where I have trouble focusing on my work/listening to videos. I have tried cleaning the vents out with a vaccuum, tilting the base of my laptop so that airflow is better, fidgeted with the battery saver settings, reseted my laptop multiple times but nothing seems to really help. One thing that I did notice is that only one side of my fan is blowing out air (I'm not sure if the other side of the vent should be releasing air too). Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your support!

@ Daniel311 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting fan noise.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

I have a few recommendations:

  • Updating your Notebook computer BIOS

  • Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean

  • Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat

  • Using Windows Task Manager to identify corrupt processes

  • Selecting power saves settings to shut off your computer when it is not in use
