The hard drive in my laptop failed so I need to replace it. Since I’m replacing the HD I want to upgrade the memory as well. I searched and found the memory is DDR4 SDRAM. My laptop comes with 6 GB of memory (1x4 GB and 1x2 GB). I wasn’t able to find out the memory capacity, so can someone help me out with the max memory possible so I can upgrade it properly, along with a new HD?

Hi,
Max RAM is 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz (2x8GB)
The RAM will run at 1866MHz

On page 58 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM. It is not easiest model to upgrade RAM as you need to remove the motherboard and flip it to get to the slots

If you are replacing the drive you should replace with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD as it will give a great boost to the machine.
Hope it helps,
David
