I can't get my laptop to charge through the usb c or though my usb c docking station. I'm trying to connect with an 87 watt ac power adapter. Is there a setting i need to check?

Greetings @KKinOH,
Found the user guide of your computer. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05637250
Refer to page number 5.
The USB C port on your computer can only be used to Connect a USB device, such as a cell phone, camera, activity tracker, or smartwatch, and provides high-speed data transfer.
The USB C port on your computer cannot be used for charging.
Hope this helped.

The product name is Pavilion x360 14t-ba000. Product number Z8H95AV.
I did a chat with somebody from HP support a few days ago and all he had me do was run some diagnostics. Everything came back OK so he said I needed to purchase some help from SmartFriend. I'm having a tough time accepting that on a device I just bought this summer.

Thanks for the reply and providing the product number of your computer. Is your computer charging fine with the adapter bundled with the computer?
Recommend you run HP Support Assistant to update BIOS and chipset on your computer. Click here for assistance in using HPSA.
Once the drivers are updated check if the charger is working fine.
If the issue persists, check if there any drivers are available for the docking station.
Also, make sure the docking station is compatible with your computer.
Recommend you contact our phone support for assistance with any HP docking station issues.
Hope this helped.
