Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, seeking case manager escalation for complaint lodged regarding ongoing laptop fault.

Re Case ID:5146868316, (previously 5142752477), this has been sent to you on two occasions now and returned to me with no advice of checks & works undertaken and cases closed without consultation. The Laptop is still overheating and freezing so I seek escalation to urgently address before I take further action.

Thanks Joshua.

@JS14_3282, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Overheating Issues for HP Pavilion x360!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Pavilion x360 laptop is overheating, here are some steps you can take to mitigate the issue:

Ensure Proper Ventilation:

  • Make sure your laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface to allow for adequate airflow underneath. Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or couches that might block ventilation.

Check Functioning of Fans:

  • Listen for the fan noise and check that it is properly running. If the fan isn't working, there might be a hardware issue that needs professional repair.

Cleaning:

  • Dust buildup can obstruct airflow and cause overheating. Use compressed air to carefully blow out dust from the air vents.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Sometimes, outdated BIOS or drivers can lead to overheating due to improper power management. Update your system's BIOS and drivers from the HP support website.

Power Settings:

  • Adjust your power settings to reduce the processor load, especially during battery operation. You can choose a balanced power plan instead of a high-performance plan that puts more strain on your device.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
