Hello
I have the apparently not uncommon problem with a fan that never goes to rest on my Pavillion x360,
I have followed the recommendation to upgrade BIOS (twice now actually) but I can not find the settings in BIOS which is recommended to change, ie these recommendations:
Enter BIOS by pressing F10 repeatedly at startup.
Under the System Configuration tab, select System Power Scheme.
Select Balance
Click Exit Saving Changes.
I do not have any system power scheeme settings anywhere in my BIOS, either before or after I update. How do I get acess to such settings?

OK. Is the notebook completely updated? Windows, Drivers, BIOS
Here is a small guide you can follow

If you go into Task Manager are there any Processes continuously using the CPU (say about 20% or more)?
Let me know,
David

Yes, latest windows and updated BIOS.
No processes are using excessive cpu
The fan starts spinning as soon as I boot up and never stops completely, so the noise is annoying. But it adjuststhe speed up and down some.
I have opened up and checked for dust, and tried monitoring with Core Temp and the results looks cool to me.
I have also tried having coolsense on and coolsense off without noticing a difference

If I monitor with Notebook Fancontrol it tells me that the fan never drops below 12 %, and sometimes for no reason (just tiny increase in load like opening a program, but it only reacts like that sometimes) it increases to around 40% and stays there a long time before dropping back to 12%
Temperatures are between 36 and 40. I have never seen higher than 42 on normal light loads.
If I turn the fan off with Notebook FanControl it stays cool forever on light loads like watching youtube and browsing. And watching netflix which I use the nvidia card it goes to 47-50 but stays there forever even without fan.
But I do not dare to leave it off like that because I´m afraid to forget turning it on again before doing something heavier and causing damage.
With the fan on while running netflix it runs at about 60% and keeps the temperature at around 46
