I am getting a 90B error code at start up.  I can't be with out the PC for 2 weeks while sent to TX for repair.  If I open and replace the fan myself, does this void the warranty.  I still have 9 mo's warranty.

Hi:

Since this is a peer to peer forum, we cannot officially speak on behalf HP regarding the warranty terms and conditions.

Based on feedback we have received from other forum members...you are permitted to open the notebook (as long as there is no seal indicating the warranty will be voided if you do), but if you damage anything, the warranty will be void. Also HP will not warrant your fan replacement.

There should be a service manual for your specific model notebook, which will have the fan removal and replacement procedure, as well as the part number.

Or you may be able to find the part number of the fan at the link below, by entering your notebook's product number.
