HP probook 455g1 (H6E35EA)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I am going to upgrade the processor in a laptop from A8-4500M to A10-4600M .. In terms of thermal power, connector and processor code name, they coincide, and in theory, A10 should suit me. However, in the specifications for the laptop, there is no such bundle, and this worries me. Afraid of messing up my laptop. Can you tell me if I can install this processor, or not? thank you in advance. (H6E35EA)

The manual for that model does not indicate the A10-4600M as a choice.  Page 20 of the manual indicates the supported CPU choices.  Also listed on page 80

The next step ( and the highest CPU for AMD) is AMD A8-5550M, 3.1-GHz/2.1-GHz, 4-MB L2 cache, HD 8550G graphics

Tell me, is that the richland family in AMD A8-5550M is nothing dangerous for the motherboard? because I now have a native AMD A8-4500M processor of the trinity family, can I easily replace it with a richland?

Indeed, this processor is spelled out in the manual, thank you very much, you helped a lot! I somehow did not dare to tackle it right away, because my English is weak) it is strange that this is on a different architecture .. I thought there was a strict restriction. And nowhere on the Internet I have found a mention of the 5550M being suitable here. Now it's even better, the dual graphics driver hd 8550g + 8750m will suit me, it will probably be even more productive than with the A10, because the integrated graphics are weaker there, maybe if I hadn't turned to you, the motherboard would have burned out. Thanks again, health to you and your loved ones)

You are welcome.  Be sure to let us know if you decided to make the upgrade and how is works.

Compare the CPU you actually purchase with the one listed in the manual.
