Hi,
Over the last few weeks, my HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0010na has been acting up, even when plugged the battery is often not charging, it does happen often that the AC seems to be disconnected, and then comes back to life to charge the battery again.
I am having trouble talking to a real HP person to find a solution to that.

Hi @winas
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the battery issue.
Let's try these steps -
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
4) Plug-in the Adapter.
5) Try to turn on the computer.
Download and install the BIOS from this link.
If the issue still persists, test the battery and AC Adapter -
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once.
4) Go to Component test.
5) From the list, run the Battery and AC Adapter test.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have trouble shooted computers for Costco Service for years. Make sure you check power settings. Type power in the start menu search bar and make sure " plugged in while charging" and those settings are correct. You may notice it not on the right setting, possible battery saver mode or something of that nature, but if the battery test passed and still the AC adapter only charges the laptop sometimes, I would check into a replacement AC adapter block or just the power cord that you plug into the power brick.

Many thanks for your help, the laptop was sent back to HP for repairs,
I had a similar problem with a previous unit, HP sent me a refund and i went for the same model hoping it was a one off, a few months later, another motherboard failure.
Let's see if the customer service is still compensating for their sub par quality.
