Hello there everyone,
I have an hp 15-bw036na laptop and I just recently broke the screen by accident, I want to change the screen and also thought it would be a good idea to upgrade the entire laptop as well. I already upgraded the ram and was wondering if anyone knows any other types of upgrades that I can carry out on the laptop, this could be the motherboard, processor, harddrive etc. And another thing I want to ask is if the laptop can be upgraded to use 2 hard drives or a DVD port? I think 2 hard drives can be installed in the laptop but am not sure yet. Any answers and help are welcome.

Replacing the display is a viable option, but unless you are experienced at separating the parts of the display, buy the screen and have the work done at a laptop shop.
The Maintenance & Service guide

Your laptop specifications

Your specific laptop display screen is 15.6" diagonal HD SVA WLED-backlit touch screen (1366 x 768)
HD, BrightView, touch 809612-013
Online vendor sources, some are in the UK

Upgrading the 500GB SATA legacy electro-mechanical hard drive to a 2.5" SATA-3 SSD will give your laptop an amazing performance boost.
There is no real option for more than one 2.5" SSD in your laptop. Using the same port that the DVD used is not the best plan.
Upgrading the processor is not viable.
It would require replacing the system board.
If you are considering replacing the system board, in my own opinion you would be better off sourcing a replacement laptop. System boards are expensive and not easy to source!!

Nope. I am not thinking about a different laptop.
Your laptop is in the same category as the others referenced in the Maintenance & Service guide. Look in chapter 3, pages 2 and 3.
Your laptop does have support for a SATA M.2 SSD. 2280 size format.
There is also support for a Fixed, serial ATA, 9.0-mm tray load DVD re-writer.

Thanks for your reply, just to let you know my laptop has a 30 pin video connector and if I get a touchscreen it will be a 40 pin video connector, and do you have any site recommendations where I can get the screen I need. Again my laptop is 15-bw036na.
