HP Beats Special Edition p-071nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am checking to see if it is possible to upgrade the processor and graphics on my p-071nr laptop. The microprocessor on it is 1.7GHz up to 2.7GHz AMD Quad-Core A8-5545M APU. I know the graphics are embedded into the motherboard, but wondering if it is possible to change it? Graphics in there now are AMD Radeon HD 8510G graphics with up to 4224MB total graphics memory. I added an additional 8GB of ram for a total of 16GB because I like my laptop and am trying to hopefully just upgrade it over time rather than going out and buying a new one. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Hello @JW118,

Unfortunately, the AMD A8-5545M APU uses a BGA socket (Ball Grid Array) therefore upgrades are impossible.

If you want, you can replace the motherboard which may be a bit expensive and a more advanced job. You can choose a better APU through this method.

Let us know if you're interested.

Kind regards,

Eddy
