Hi @SARA1992 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY x360 13.3-inch 2-in-1 laptop's power adapter has suddenly stopped working, here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

May I know
May I know if you have observed any error codes or lights blinking next to the charging port

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Check the Power Outlet:

  • Ensure the power outlet is working by plugging in another device or using the laptop adapter in a different outlet.

Inspect the Adapter and Cable:

  • Look for any visible damage to the power adapter or cable. Check for frayed wires, bends, or breaks.
  • Ensure all connections are secure. Sometimes, the plug can come loose from the adapter or the wall socket.

Test with a Different Adapter:

  • If possible, test your laptop with another compatible power adapter. If the laptop charges with a different adapter, the original adapter is likely faulty.

Check for Overheating:

  • Power adapters can shut down if they overheat. Allow the adapter to cool down for a while and then try plugging it in again.

Advanced Troubleshooting

Reset the Laptop:

  • Sometimes a power reset can help. Disconnect the adapter, remove any connected peripherals, and press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Then, try connecting the adapter again.

Check the Battery and Charging Port:

  • Ensure the charging port on the laptop is not damaged or obstructed. Gently clean the port with compressed air.

Additional Steps

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Ensure your laptop’s BIOS and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can resolve hardware recognition issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • For laptops with non-removable batteries, a hard reset might help. Disconnect the adapter, press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds, then reconnect the adapter and try powering on the laptop.
