Product: HP EliteBook 8460p Base Model Notebook PC

I have an Elitebook 8460p Elitebook and a HSTNN-I11X 575324-001 581597-001 Docking Station. I cannot get any ports on the docking station to respond - I have only one power cable for the Elitebook and none for the docking station - when I bought the docking station I was advised that I wouldn't need one for the docking station, but the elitebook power cable is totally different to the socket on the docking station. Do I really need a power cable for the docking station and if so, where would I find one?

I find that the power switch on the docking station will turn off the elitebook, but nothing else on the docking station appears to function, so I assume that the elitebook is connected OK to the docking station?

Any advice very welcome!
